Pottawatomie County Democrats

Open Campaign Office

We celebrated our campaign office grand opening almost all week with daily afternoon coffee parties.

Billy Coyle Jim Priest, Chris Odneal and Steve Covert all dropped by to help us celebrate during the first week

If you haven't come by to pick up your signs and hear about all the good news from the polls, remember we are at 1110 N. Harrison. Our phone nr is 405 481 7992. We are open from 11-6, M-F and 10-2 on Saturdays.

Where Would Democrats Be If They Were As Vocal As The Tea Party Folks?

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers needed to put up signs at polling locations the night before the election and remove them at 7 p.m. the day of the election. Call 481 7992 to see if we still need someone at your polling location.

We need volunteers to do polling calls for our candidates. This can be done from our headquarters where we have free long distance or from your home for local calls. Call 481 7992 to help.

Non-presidential election years traditionally have much lower turnouts than presidential election years. If we can get out our Democratic voters, we will definitely had a good chance of winning more elections. If everyone on this mailing list volunteered to call 40 Democrats just to remind them to vote starting the Thursday before the election, it would make a significant difference for Democrats.

11 State Questions on Ballot

Our Republican controlled legislature put 10 of them on the ballot. Some were put there to get out their base and some were put there just to confuse. Come by our headquarters to read all of them and see a short plain English summary of each.

Where Would Democrats Be If They Were As Organized and Cohesive As the Republicans?

CAN YOU TELL WHICH CANDIDATE IS REPUBLICAN?

DISTRICT 27 STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Candidate                                       Documented Candidate Policy

                                                                Education Funding

1                                               Supports lower class size, adequate funding

                                                emphasis on technology solutions.

2                                               Believes families and churches should take

                                                       more responsibility for education and

                                                      education funding should be lowered.

5th DISTRICT CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE

Candidate                                      * Documented Candidate Policy

               1                                               Social Security

                                                                 Supports honoring our government's

commitment to the citizens who have

paid into Social Security all their work life.

               2                                               Supports privatizing Social Security

which would require citizens to invest

their savings in Wall Street stocks and

bonds Supports raising the age of

                                                                 retirement to age 70.

The Republican candidate is number 2 in both examples . Let's make sure our number 1 candidates are are number 1 after the votes are counted. We simply can't afford to elect any more Republicans to state or Federal offices.

*Note candidate positions were taken from their web sites or candidate statements during primary debates.
